Excellent idea. I used to work in Dakota County, and it didn't take long to learn to ignore the sirens.

20 years in my home. Probably at least 40-60 siren events (2 or 3 a year). Zero tornados. It's easy to see why the sirens are ignored. Smarter use of the existing system makes sense. However I fail to see why $500,000 of taxpayer money are needed to modify just one county's way of using the already existing sirens.
