Coach says Granlund's progress is obvious

Even though he hasn't made the immediate impact Wild fans and even Wild brass expected, coach Mike Yeo is seeing improvement from the highly touted 2010 first-rounder.

The way this guy's shuffling lines and how he talks about Grandlund and "making him look better", I get an awful feeling in my gut that his guy Yeo doesn't have a clue and is doing it/coaching from the hip. No plan at all.

Lindy.. Completely agree.. We BARELY beat one of the worst teams in the league last night at home in the "State Of Hockey".. Let the homers crown them and defend Yeo but I think too this guy is not going to take this team far and there will always be excuses when they don't win about his" system" or "preparation", and no preseason, injuries, blah blah blah.... 500 team at best and always fighting for that laaaast spot... Calm down people, and win 3 of next 4 games and I will eat crow.. Just imho

This has James Sheppard written all over it. Send the kid down. Every time we call up Zucker or Coyle they contribute while Granlund just wastes away on the 4th line or in the press box.

Great game last night for Grandlund, he looked poised and confident. Give him time, he will be just fine.

You guys do realize this is Yeo's second year right? Also we have at least 40% roster turnover, no camp, no practices, etc. These definitely sound like excuses, but that's because they're true! Keep your pants on and give them time! I want to see results as much as the next guy, but every time you blow the thing up and start over you have to do just that, start over. It takes time to get a good thing going.

Grandlund is already better than Sheppard. Grandlund knows what he has to work on to get better where as Sheppard figured he already knew everything and didn't want to be coached. You can see the progress in Grandlund and in Sheppard all you saw was regression.

I am not sold on Yeo but I am sold on these young guys.I have been waiting for Zucker to come back since the end of last year. Grandlund will fine the kids only 21 people. Take a chill pill

I know half the fanbase is out of patience. But it's Yeo's second season, with a team in rebuilding mode. The Wild is chock full of players that had no time to click together thanks to the lockout. Contrary to the ridiculous expectations, Granlund is NOT the Finnish Messiah. Signing Parise and Suter does NOT automatically hand us the Stanley Cup. It's too bad the inept end of Lemaire and Risebrough's tenure ate up a lot of the remaining goodwill towards the team, since maybe for the first time in franchise history the cupboard is full and marquis players are willing to sign here. This is NOT the year the Wild turn it around - it's the start of the turn.

If I recall correctly, Antti Miettinen faced similar struggles when adapting to the North American game. Give the lad time.
