Regardless of what they're called, I just hope they all keep playing well so the Twins have a solid opening day CF. You'd think Hicks and Mastro have an advantage as they'd be easier fits in the 1 or 2 spot in the lineup, as opposed to Benson who's more of a 6 hitter at this point. Great job fellas!

It would be great if all hit well enough to make the team as outfielders with Willingham and Parmalee. That would improve outfield defense.

Sadly, it can be called a 3-way competition, but Gardenhire is utterly predictable when it comes to the notion of spring training auditions. That is, there aren't any. He typically has his opening-day roster in mind by March 1, he just hasn't told anyone else about it. (Heck, he usually has picked his opening-day starter by then, too.) So, with mind-numbing predictability, he will bring Mastroianni north, citing his "big-league experience" as the reason, rather than giving anyone with a much higher ceiling a chance (i.e. Hicks or Benson).

How about we call them "The Future"....as in by the end of May Benson and Hicks will be in CF and RF once the Twins realize you cannot possibly start Parmalee and Willingham in Target Field OF. I agree with Morty...Gardy, predictably, will bring Masto north and the Twins, predictably, will send Hicks and Benson to AAA to "get AAA at bats", when we all know it'll be about service time and having them under control one more year.
