Well, then, it's a good thing they pulled all of those businesses out of that block. It would have been a real shame to have some nasty little "landmark" like Let it Be Records actually utilizing that space!

Nice try you visionary developers and City Council approvers! You removed unique downtown businesses to homogenize our beautiful city, and it failed in the end. At least it didn't get as far as Block E did...or didn't.

Maybe there's a chance to turn the block into a nice downtown park -- like Rice and Muir parks in St Paul -- like Block E should have been.

We looked at those condo (plans and mockups) a few times but they were way too pricey: about twice the price of our house --and more than double the taxes--for half the space PLUS about $800 per month for maintenance fee...AND no lake and woods and walking trails out the back door.

Because they were hoping to collect far MORE taxes from the big expensive big building than from the cheap little buildings.
