Shame on the Republicans for allowing him to get through!
The Senate Repubs evidently have made their point. What that point was or is as it pertains to soon to be Sec. Hagel is still unclear even to most of the Senate Repubs. Such is how it goes in DC these days.
Oh is Sen. Lindsay done throwing her fit? It's about time she did her job.
Republicans just wasted a bunch of time and money temporarily blocking a nomination they knew was going to be approved.
It's amazing that the republicans think we are going to forget what they have been doing to this country.
What a waste of time and money for McCann, Graham, and Ayotte. This could have been done 11 days ago if they didn't go on another vacation!
"He will take office with the weakest support of any defense secretary..." said Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, the Senate GOP's No. 2 Republican.
Democratic Sen. Jack Reed, who pointed out... "All have to work together for the interest of the country,".
That right there shows the difference between the two parties. Some want to do what's best for the country, others want to see the Sec. of Defense fail. Remember that in 2014.
Hey, wasn't Hagel a conservative republican senator? Doesn't that provide evidence that the GOP just opposes Obama because it's Obama. Seems really obvious to everyone except the true believers of the trickle on America party.
... and Hagel is getting exactly what he wants. Military spending cuts. Welcome aboard!
No we just started to cut, when it's down to it's bare bones, we will still have a military that can beat any other in the world that is even the slightest bit aggressive toward us. Simply not being the police men of the world will save us up to a half trillion a year.
