US new-home sales soar nearly 16 percent in January to highest level in 4 1/2 years

WASHINGTON - U.S. new-home sales jumped in January from the previous month to the highest level since July 2008, a sign that the housing recovery is accelerating.

I love Rugaber! Figures are 378,000 yet a healthy figure is considered 700,000. And summit, thanks for what? The additional six trillion added to our deficit? The really high unemployment? The millions of near recipients of entitlements? The net loss American jobs? Wake up!!!!

I would personally consider _homelessness_ to be more of an issue central to the economy when compared with more secondary issues such as fulctuations in value of owned & mortgaged housing.
