Sniper in Syria pulls on his Robbinsdale Cooper sweatshirt, starts shooting

The sniper trains his scoped rifle through the hole in the wall, finds his target and squeezes the trigger. With each round, a man is heard declaring “Allahu Akbar (God is great).”

Whoever he is, he should pay more attention to firearm maintenance, since he's having so many failures to extract.

Fine, great shout out, but that ain't gonna fix the school's shameful baseball field. With the incline, you can roll an egg from first base to third. And you might want to try weeding and watering from time to time. That is all.

Don't some thrift stores send their unsalable clothing to impoverished parts of the world? Too bad that Cooper has to deal with this unfortunate random association with war, death and guns.

Someone probably donated the sweatshirt to a missions collection that was sent to Syria.

Don't Feed the Greed GuyFeb. 26, 1310:59 AM

Hi all, Someone in the Robbinsdale-Cooper community may have responded to the biblical call to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the needy... No one can control the outcome of that generosity, or the intent of a freedom fighter, half a world away. My concern is that a "negative" connection with Cooper might hinder future acts of generosity. I hope that this is not the outcome. Rather, we should remember one anonymous donor's attempt to do the right thing.

Another mystery to me is how Robbinsdale Cooper can be located in New Hope, as this article describes.

As an RCHS alumni, I think this story is much ado about nothing. Cooper High has nothing to do with the Syrian resistance movement. However they do have a pretty good basketball team (9-0 in its conference) and a nice theater department (just concluded performing its musical The Whiz).

I'm surprised the district didn't invoke the usual "District policy prohibits us from providing any additional details on this."

Georgina - Cooper High IS located in the city of New Hope. The school is part of the Robbinsdale School District...... Back in the early 1980's when Robbinsdale High was permanently closed, the district sought to smooth things over by prefacing the names of the remaining two high schools with the name Robbinsdale. So you now have Robbinsdale Armstrong over in Plymouth and Robbinsdale Cooper in New Hope.
