In anything there will be people that are good and there will be people that are bad. I agree with the statement "not a place you want to be working" if they wont hire a man that has been deemed worth enough to protect the leader of the free world. I would hire this man. Our politics may not agree but our sense of responsibility, duty and work ethics sure would. That's all you need to work with someone. This sounds like a great opportunity. I hope many take advantage of it and see success.

Carlson's tuition just isn't worth the high price. It is artificially inflated due to corporation's tuition reimbursement programs. Enormous class sizes and a very limited ROI make other accredited programs such as UST and UWRF a much better value. Then you have the location of their Carlson Management building...You had better be a well trained soldier to feel safe. During the orientation, they actually point out the streets you can see from the skyway and tell you to avoid them because there are a number of undesirable locals willing to mug you. In short, if you want an education that isn't worth the money and like a little danger with your studies, Carlson may be right for you.

Vets with free G.I. bill money are probably the only demographic left who can afford their bloated tuition costs.

@ sleestak - The only Midwest business school that comes close to matching Carlson is UW Madison. Mentioning UWRF or even UST in the same sentence as the nationally recognized MBA program Carlson offers is absolutely insane. All the top Minnesota companies including 3M, United Health, and General Mills recruit almost exclusively from the Carlson School of Management.

Lots of friends that have graduated from the U and St Thomas MBA programs. St Thomas wins hands down on feedback based on flexibility, applicability and "all in" cost. I am glad to see the U trying new programs like this and agree that military leadership experience should be factored in and waive some coursework.

@elmore1 - also lots of friends who have graduated from UST MBA program too but have regrets over going there instead of Carlson just because tuition was cheaper and it was in downtown where they work. Career services and program quality were terrible at UST. Friends have told me that everybody who applies at UST gets in and many students in the classes don't even any work experience. I'm just starting to think about bschool and have talked to friends from both schools and hands down Carlson is a better program form all I've talked to. It's too bad I am not military and my company won't reimburse. Carlson should think about lowering costs for ALL students. But even though I know I will be paying everything on my own I still would choose Carlson over UST.

Carlson is sooo great Carlson Companies hired a UST MBA as their CEO... Upon graduation from Carlson they jam a steel rod down your pinky so it sticks out at just the right angle for your social parties...
