Neither team can hold a big lead or protect the ball, as again was demonstrated by the Wolves on Sunday.

Sid you are delusional if you think the public considers Tubby Smith one of the best coaches, as he is in actuality one of the worse, and shows it year after year after year. Here he is with his best team in years, and the most healthy team in years, and as everyone of his teams have done, they regress in there development as the year goes by. I appreciate your reading your column Sid, but you sure make some ridiculous statements at times, evidenced by this comment about Smith.

Sorry Sid, unlike Tubby Rick Adelman still knows how to coach.

wisstinks4Feb. 24, 1311:03 PM

I guess adelman is a good coach, not really sure about tubby. Every yr they start ranked and pee their pants in big ten play only to go 8-8 in the conference and squeak in the NCAA dance or go little in the NIT. Tubby has not brought in the talented 4,5 star players we thought would rebuild the program. I dislike his rotations, mhis teams stink at inbound plays and why is this group not winning more? Why, why, why???? Tubby, I am out of patience. Time to go for you. I hear nova scotia university is looking for a basketball coach.

Fire Tubby. Hire Bruce Pearl. Problem solved.

whareidFeb. 25, 1312:03 AM

This is Sid's way of campaigning for Tubby's job. If Minnesota keeps Tubby after this year's dismal collapse, it will confirm what most people suspect..the Gopher athletic program is a joke and should transfer into a JUCO league.

Sorry Sid-to use injuries as an excuse for the Gopher's pathetic performance over the last 11 games is ridiculous. The were totally healthy when the coaches could not figure out how to break Northwestern's 1-3-1 trap, resulting in the loss that has defined this season. Rodney has an injured shoulder, but prior to that had done nothing in Big Ten play. Worst coaching staff in the Big Ten is the real problem.

Tubby doesn't have the annual injury excuse to lean on this year. What is the common denominator behind quality players like Justin Cobbs, Devoe Joseph, Colton Iverson etc leaving the U.? Tubby keeps running them off. He loses his team. He may be able to recruit, but he leaves a lot to be desired as a game day coach. Continually fails at making halftime adjustments. Hopefully, this will be his final season.

Rick had to cringe, seeing his name lumped with Tubby regarding coaching ability.

Recruit--I don't think so. The Gophers do not have a Kraft--Hulls--Zeller--Nixs--Victor O. How many our MN kids have ended up in WI? Recruit Nope he never could. How many of the starting five could start for any other big ten teams?

Lol, Sid, how does arguably the worst coach in the B1G qualify for one of the best in the business? Sid go read the article that was written by Greg Doyle the day Tubby got hired here. The man lost 25 games the last 2 years he was at Kentucky. They haven't lost 25 games total since. When it comes time for Tubby to coach the players he recruits you get the results we've seen every year he's been here. 2 NCAA appearances and one and done. The best in the business, give me a break.
