The Vikings are searching for a quarterback but leave no doubt that Christian Ponder is No. 1.

Pride will prove to be our biggest obstacle. "We're looking for a quarterback ... even though we don't need one".

What about Bethel he was so impressive that the Vikes cut the best QB they had in Sage. Apparently he isn't a raw talent that Speilman thought he was.

Joe Webb is a fine athlete but is not an NFL caliber quarterback. If the Vikings want to score tons of points they need to find a competent quarterback that can get the ball into the hands of Peterson, Harvin, Webb and a receiver to be named later as much as possible.

My guess is they are not going to go after another QB until they can get a team around Ponder. Once they think they have that team maybe they will bring in the last piece again. aka the QB. We all know ponder is probably not that guy. Heck I would even say Rex Grossman may even be better than Ponder but like it or not doesn't help to bring in that QB when we only have AP right now as an offensive weapon. Not sure what Harvin will be doing yet.

The Vikings reach for Ponder, like they did T-Joke, and then are too proud to admit they screwed up and stick with that QB until 3 years go by. If the 49ers can set down Alex Smith after paying him, and the Seahawks can bench Matt Flynn after trading for him, the Vikings can certainly upgrade their QB, as Ponder isn't even close to Smith or Flynn.

Let's be REALLY clear. This team will never see a conference championship game, until it gets a different starting quarterback. AP cannot do this by himself.

If we add a QB that will give us three backups. Smith is going to KC. If Wilf believes Ponder is the guy then this franchise is worse off than I thought. Any way you look at it the fans are screwed. Wilf..this franchise needs a real GM!

exactly-the only qb will be a back-up...wink, wink. i can read between the lines. why put the cart before the horse, right? as soon as someone outplays ponder he will be the starting qb. i expect it to be sooner than later.
