Usually when you play "chicken" you decide if you have any reasonable odds of winning. Despite being on the losing end of the game for four years, Congressional Republicans are giving it another go. That would suggest that, adding to their proven levels of ineptitude, a previously untapped strata of stupidity in the current Republican DNA. That, along with their failure to keep any of their election promises, should disqualify most of them from ever again holding public office.
So the President negotiates to put these automatic cuts into the bill. Then comes out and says "it wasn't me" and the cuts will destroy this country. Well Pres Obama, maybe you should not have negotiated for those cuts before you were against those cuts. Any of you who believe or support this guy should get checked out. He lies to you on a daily basis yet keeps his legions of sheeple around him. OBEY
In 2008, the Federal gov't spent 2.9 Trillion. In 2012, they spent 3.7 Trillion. Are you telling me that that spending 715 BILLION more than just 4 years ago is not enough. How did we get by in 2008 without that extra 715 BILLION? This scare tactic is a horrible way to lead!
That, along with their failure to keep any of their election promises, should disqualify most of them from ever again holding public office.----------------------I'm guessing you mean like:
Reaching across the isle rather than telling juvenile jokes and slams during every speech.
Cutting the deficits in half, rather than multiplying them by 8
Or cutting the insurance premiums by 2500, rather than increasing them by double digit percentages
Getting us out of Iraq in 16 months, rather than gettng us out on the exact date that Bush negotiated.
You mean those promises???
When Obama learns to negotiate and the art of compromise the GOP won't need to play hardball. We may lose the battle because low information voters can't see past the end of their noses, but in the end we either save the country from bankruptcy or we go down with the ship. Your never ending taxing, borrowing and spending will be the end of the Republic as we know it.
I am always fascinated by those that are so infatuated with and enamored by Obama that they refuse to accept the truth.
We know Bush over spent and sank us deep into debt, and yet not one liberal will admit that Obama has over spent, over promised, lied and failed as a leader.
The President is doing a horrible job managing this whole thing. The buck stops with him, right?
The politicians on both side of the aisle are afraid that the golden goose is about to be cooked.
If "sequester" happens the 2013 Federal Spending will be $15-35B MORE than 2012 Federal Spending. If "sequester" does not happen Spending will be $100-120B more than 2012! Either way we will be spending more money! Obamas plan? A "balanced approach" Raising taxes and talking about spending cuts that will never happen!
The cuts amount to a measly 2%, were 17 trillion in debt, if those cuts cause the collateral damage the DEMS claim we better look at all spending twice as hard. To put it in perspective a person making 100,000 taking home 3000 every 2 weeks would have to cut 100 dollars from his budget every 2 weeks. If that triggered the lights being turned off, car and credit card payments missed and your mortgage missed theres other issues.
