So when the hotel fails the property will need to be sold. Sold to a developer that will ask that it be zoned in to condos so it can be successful. What a brilliant but an expensive way to get new condos on the water.

Until it's built and operating, how does anyone know it will succeed or fail? Everyone points to why the hotels went out of business 50+ years ago assuming those business conditions still exist. If you haven't noticed, it's no longer 50+ years ago and I'm not sure if the business conditions are necessarily the same or not. One thing for sure is that it will be a novelty until other hotels are built on the lake. If it is marketed properly, I would guess it will succeed until it gets competition. However, to just write this venture off because of past history is foolish. Businesses come and go and it is probably time for another venture into hotels on Lake Minnetonka until they fail. That is the way of business.
