Shakopee council wants tax hike for transit

Shakopee’s City Council favors a DFL proposal to pull Scott County into the metrowide add-on sales tax for transit.

So scott county will get taxed 1/4 cent or about $3,000,000. How much will they get back? I'll bet a lot less than they put in, just ask Washington county.

Honestly it would be better if they'd just stay out, if it means we can continue to avoid wasting our money on exurban transit. Instead, focus on transit inside the 494/694 loop only.

So as a resident of scotty county that doesnt live in shakopee i will have to pay more in taxes? nice of them to make me pay for something i will never use. how about have the riders pay for the expansion of service or have southwest run it since they dont get tax money and do things better anyway.
