Thank you Phil Miller. Some of the Rose Colored Glasses crowd think that this collection of "A" ball talent has a chance at a .500 season in 2013. Pretty tough when most of the ground balls will find their way to the outfield. Well, at least the Pohlads will profit another 30 mill this year fielding "A" ball players and 90 plus losses yet again.

This is not a very convincing combo.

And are we to trust the management who gave us 16 SS and 19 2B over the last 8 years to get it right now? How does Gardy know that Dozier is a more natural 2B? Sounds like insanity to me...

Florimon is the first shortstop since Greg Gagne to have the range, glove and arm to really support the pitching staff. Doziers errors and slump were an issue but he does not have true shortstop range anyway and is a much better candidate for 2nd base. Jamey Carrol is a good backup with veteran leadership skills to help the youngsters out and Escobar has very good defensive skills at both short and second so there is more reason to be positive about our middle infield than we have had in awhile. The trump card here is that we have a stable of good young outfielders so there is some trade bait if it comes down to it. That begs the question however, of why the Twins who have both TK and Gardenhire in the mix can't seem to draft well up the middle of the infield. Whoever is scouting the outfielders may deserve a raise and whoever is scouting infielders for the draft may need to be re-assigned ??

We had a SS in Hardy, and we traded him to make room fro Nishioka? Whoever made that move should be gone.

So the Twins now call Nisho "a roll of the dice"? That is not what they told fans when they signed him.

JJ Hardy.....JJ Hardy....the Twins had an All-Star shortstop and had the position filled for at least 5-7 years.....but no, he was too slow and was hurt for a bit.....Not good enough for them....stupidest move they made in the last 10 years by letting him go......

There's that word, again, "fluorish" - reporters seem to use it in describing too many players who've left the Twins and landed elsewhere. They "fluorish" when they go elsewhere. Why don't they do that, here? What's behind that, I wonder?

Last year Gardy and the Twins lauded Dozier as the SS of the future. I also remember them saying Dozier's skillset was more akin to SS than 2B. Sure he made errors last year. But he made many more spectacular plays. Other teams and coaches really liked what they saw from our young SS last year. I remember Dusty Baker saying how he admired Dozier's hardnosed, lay-it-all-on-the line-every-play style. Obviously, not Gardy though. Why is that? Why couldn't he have left Dozier at SS and worked him through his struggles? What I'd like to see is for the Twins to settle on one guy and let him play. Stop the merry-go-around. Maybe Gardy will have to ber fired before that happens...well, if this team doesn't perform to expectations that will need to happen. After consecutive 95+ loss seasons, my patience is pretty much gone.
