Mound Westonka hockey players in dance video suspended.
First it's dancing on tables. Next, it's bank robberies and dealing drugs.
Suspensions and police involvement over some kids dancing? Seems like a lot of waste of time and resources over some kids having some fun and making a video.
This is the key part of the story: "administrators reportedly spent the rest of the school day examining the video with police." Obviously there was more recorded than just this dance if it took hours to examine and police were involved. If not, then there are way too many administrators.
I heard it was a little more than "just a dance". I heard it started a mosh pit and a food fight. These kids got what they deserved. I applaud the Mound-Westonka AD for taking control of the unruly crowd.
Police, Suspensions, removed from varsity play during section tournament over an impromptu dance and video? U Kidding me?
And if it was 6 kids from the Science Team it wouldn't be a story.
...and now back to the News!
There is definitely something missing in this story. Otherwise the punishment is quite disproportionate to the "crimes", if there were any.
[After the camera was confiscated, administrators reportedly spent the rest of the school day examining the video with police.] What's wrong with this picture?
That video could have only been a few minutes long. What were they looking at all day? If there was something illegal on it that should be a different charge. Sounds odd to me. Sounds like they were just having fun. Probably not a great idea to get on the tables though.
