Amen to Kinnick's remark!!! I'm extremely tired of hearing how great Tubby Smith is. The fact of the matter is that he was referred to as "ten loss Tubby" at Kentucky. I understand that there is a coaches "fraternity" and that's why you never any negative comments from ESPN or other commentators. Bobby Knight came closest to the truth last year when Mbakwe went down. Literally everyone made excuses for Smith's performance except Knight. He simply stated that you work with the players you've got. Any good coach can and has overcome adversity. In short, please FIRE Tubby Smith!!!!

Kinnick is uneducated about college basketball, fact is that the whole season is taken into account, not just how hot you are at the end of February and early March. Just because Kinnick's Hawkeyes beat Minnesota does not underscore the fact that the Gophers were a much better team than Iowa from November to mid-January and have the higher RPI. Not to mention, didn't Iowa lose to Minnesota as well.

RPI to bail out the Gophers??? A 5th seed in the NCAA tournament??? How will it look after they get destroyed by Indiana, give Penn State their first conference victory, embarrass themselves at Nebraska, and mail it in against Purdue??? This followed by getting blown out in the play-in game of the Big 10 tournament. Their guards can't run an offense, they turn the ball over, they can't hit a basket over 5 feet away, and their "big" players don't dominate. Good luck with that!

No one is mentioning the key factor; conference tournaments throughout the country. Teams with bad RPI win conference tournaments, one by one, taking other teams spots. As this occurs, the Gophers keep moving closer and closer to number 66. Each year there are teams that believe they deserve to be in the NCAA and do not make it.

Which is a worse travesty, "earning" a bowl bid at 6-6 only to end up 6-7 on the season or not making the NCAA tournament yet again? No coat-tails to ride here Tubby. You have been exposed for the phony you are. Take our money and retire.

If they keep playing as poorly as they are, they may not win another game. If that is the case, we won't have to hear about their great RPI because it won't matter; they won't make the NCAA. If that happens, I hope they also turn down the NIT invite because thier poor play and total lack of fundamentals should exclude them from tournament as well.

Simply stated, the Gophers are a Talented team with absolutely zero guidance. Anything short of a sweet 16 appearance is a great big FAIL! If Norwood Teague is serious about facilitating a tradition of winning, he can take a huge step and make a statement by firing Tubby Smith if we don't finish strong.

I bet the television audience can't wait to watch the great stand around offense the Gophers play....
