I lost a lot of respect for him after the whole gay marriage thing. Don't know why he decided he needed to be so outspoken. Must be rough to walk away from almost $6 million. How many people, if you told them you'd pay them that to work two more years, would say no thanks? Most people don't approach making that in a lifetime.

Class act and congrats Matt! As far as his opinion on gay marriage, I thought the definition of a liberal is someone who respects people with different opinions? There are many athletes and especially actors I don't agree with politically, but I still can respect them. Matt was a good family man and a good teammate who was never in the news for anything bad. A great role model and I wish him the best.

Who said an Ivy League lineman couldn't make it in the NFL. What a waste of a good education. Congrads on winning the Super Bowl, should have had another in '98. Well deserved retirement. Your leaving the same way you came in, a Winner. GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
