They will use Grapefruit League games to evaluate their many pitchers and also to determine who will be playing up the middle.

Name me a left handler who didn't own the Twins last season.

In other words, they have taken a step back from last year. At least my ticket package includes games against some really good teams.

The only two reliable middle infielders the Twins have had the last two years is Casilla and Carrol and Gardenhier fiqures two other players will be the starters. This will place an approximately an additional 1.00 ERA on the Twins pitchers. The Twins fiqured they saved $800,000 by getting rid of Casilla and replacing him with a minor leaquer that earns the minimum $600,000 salary; a savings of less than 1% of the total Twins players salary for the team. So the Twins are willing to give up one additional run per game to save less than 1% of the total team salary. BRILLIANT! We need smarter baseball people running the show.

After reading this, my first thought is ugh ... that Vegas over/under of 68 wins is looking like a challenge now.

Time for the twins to see what they have? This shouldn't take long.

Sounds like spring training will be lots of fun to watch. Center field and the bullpen will be alright. The middle infield and starting pitching still are worrisome.

There isn't much to find out, except which pitchers they have acquired can pitch after surgeries and rehab. I just wish they'd stop trying to pass this outfit off as "competitive". They have 4 established hitters and the rest are anybody's guess (both fielding and hitting). They have Vance Worley and Kevin Correia who have no injuries to shake off. They can't seem to get over the idea of having a backup catcher (Butera) who can't hit his weight. This team has zero chance of competing except maybe in the American Association. I'm tired of the b.s.

The uncertainty and desperation of the Twins can be seen in the team's 27(!) non-roster invitees, which must lead MLB. While competitor's rosters are basically set, the Twins' more resembles an Abbott & Costello comedy routine, with "I don't know" at 3rd. No wonder Gardy sounds peevish already; he needs a MLB team and mgt has given him an odds and ends bin to sort through.
