Despite surprising snub by the team, he's focused on providing even more surprises on the field.

Seems like a good decision for both sides. Vikings get another year to see whether Frazier is the right long-term solution. After Leslie proves he is this year, he gets an even bigger contract.

There is a reason seven other teams turned this dude down as a head coach. Hopefully management has come to their senses knowing this guy can't win down the stretch and into the playoffs.Good move no extension until proven other wise which will not happen. Leslie is a nice guy but not a bonafide head coach at this level.

Three things - 1) Say what you will but Fraiser is a class guy. He says and does the right things and his players respond to him. He's brought a leadership to the Vikings that is refreshing. Tice was WAY over his head and Childress was, well, he's probably good at something but it ain't at being a head coach. 2) I can't blame the Wilfs after the Childress debacle. "Fool me once" sort of thing. And ALL coaches, with the exception of maybe Belicheat are ALWAYS on the hot seat. Win or your gone. 3) for all the Fraiser critics all he's done is turn a completely dysfunctional locker room into a playoff team in a little more than 2 years. No one can logically argue with that.

"oddity of Frazier's current situation"? He's 13 - 20 and has two years left on the contract that he signed. It would be stupid for the Wilf's to extend him now.
