I think this is a total non story. The Vikings did what they should have done. Last year was little better than a fair showing. The team lacks depth and in my opinion is very susceptible to being out coached in any game. I think Frazier will mature into a good coach but I don' think he deserves a bucket of cash right now. And Zigi and company is not obligated to over paying another coach. It's just too bad that Zigi didn't consult his fan base with Childress because I think any one with a third grade education knew childress sucked from the beginning and then got worse....

Without Peterson, Frazier would be fired, Ponder would be exposed for what he is...a backup QB at best, and we would have a very high draft pick. We DO NOT want to make the same mistake that was made with Childress.

Is ponder the QB that takes us to the next level? I would like to belive he is but have my doubts. Im sure these are the same doubts Zigi has. who was responsible for moving up in the draft to take Ponder; Frazier had more than a little to do with it. so lets hold on to the cash this year and see.

Enough already!! The Strib is obsessed with a Frazier extension...not sure why.

I'll agree with Chip that they may not have handled this in the best of ways. But these guys should be PRAISED for waiting for a little more proof of Frazier's abilities as a coach and leader. This should be the NORM with coaches and players. Why, in God's name should they extend a contract just because of one decent year when he's got two more years to go? This is craziness.

Hey Scoggins? I would not have given him a long extension either. The Wilfs had to pay Childress after prematurely giving him a deal! And besides, Frazier has made some very poor coaching choices. The first one will be hiring and keeping a guy named MUSGRAVE. The second is wasting a season by refusing to have a quality backup QB and gambling the entire teams hard work on a guy named WEBB. And third, REACHING FOR PONDER. Everyone knows it was FRAZIER NOT SPIELMAN who wanted Ponder. So far, Ponder and Musgrave are NOT IMPRESSIVE with a 30th ranked passing game. How do you rank 30th with a guy like Adrian Peterson on your team? Frazier has a lot to prove and two years is plenty of money for now. This is a NON STORY!

A.P.'s monster year was the reason for the seven-win improvement. One guy carried the team. Period. End of discussion.

I've got greater doubts about Frazier than Ponder. Still hasn't convinced me he is an NFL coach. Now Sid on the other hand is. But he thought Childress was a genius.

Mr. Scoggins: Please tell me that a writer, or any other private sector employee, would be treated differently. As a matter of fact, an NFL coach is treated worse and under more scrutiny.
