I'd be tempted to carry a baseball bat. You want to bully me? Say hello to my Louisville Slugger.

I'm not sure how an MTC bus stop would be any more or less dangerous than a school bus stop. My kids use school bus stops less than a block from regular MTC stops. My kids also use MTC transit, and they haven't had any problems. They have had issues on the yellow school buses, which is why my son has been riding his bike to school for three years, in all but the very worst weather.

Not surprised at all. Cops are too busy hanging out getting free donuts from gas stations to be bothered doing some real police work. Sad.

This is just plain awful. They need to place plain clothes undercover cops at some of these bus stops. This is the kind of story that sparks vigilanteism, so it would be better if the cops stepped up instead of just taking reports. Oh, and real classy of the school to say that there have been "just" 12 incidents. "Just"!? What if "just" 12 of whoever said that's family we're brutally assaulted? Would it still be "just"? Of course not.

How is it the schools responsibility if the kids are not on school property?

This "wonderful" idea has/will cause more people to take their students to the suburbs and it is/will be the students that they want to perform for their standardized tests.

"A police report has yet to be filed for a pair of brothers who reported a bus stop assault in December and another again this week." Police reports haven't been filed for assaults in December? This is ridiculous!

One incident is one too many, let alone "just 12 incidents." Come on MPS, put your thinking caps on and do something.
