Twin Cities residents are finding the rush hour and the landscape altered Friday morning by a fairly minor snowfall that could still be the heaviest of this sneaky-snowy February.

How come weather forecasters are always wrong when they say we are supposed to get walloped and then only get an inch or two, but never, ever in reverse? That is, they never say we're going to get an inch or two and then we end up getting 6 or 8.

Morg: Plenty of times we get hammered when minimal snow was predicted.

Did someone forget the Halloween snow storm of '91? That started out as 4" to 6".

Morg, if you want a real answer, you should ask Paul Douglas. Maybe he would answer your question on his blog.

Weather forecasters can't win. If they kept it simple by saying 'We'll be getting snow ... how much will be determined by the storm track ...' people would complain that they are being too vague. With the snow we are currently receiving I have no issue with the varying amounts because the one thing I heard or read in every forecast was that it would be enough to shovel and plow ... and it is enough to shovel and plow. Take it easy folks. Mother Nature has her plans and no human being and no computer can predict those plans with 100% certainty or accuracy.
