Actually the issue before the court is not the ban, but the decision of the Federal court in California to overturn the ban. The Supreme Court could easily conclude the Federal district court over-reached without getting to the merits of the marriage ban itself.

I'm waiting for Obama to weigh in on the $4 gas that is threatening to throw the country into recession.

When gas prices dipped way down, we could hear crickets; now that they're heading up again, right wingers of course blame Obama. The truth is that neither an increase or a decrease in gas prices are in any way whatsoever under a president's control. Nor is the weather for that matter. OPEC, world markets, and national retrofitting of refineries in preparation for summer grade oil fully explain the fluctuations. Blaming Obama for this is simply vindictive and ignorant.

kleindropper: "I'm waiting for Obama to weigh in on the $4 gas that is threatening to throw the country into recession" Do you want him to file a friend-of-the-consumer brief with big oil? That's about all the power a President has to control gas prices.

Obama needs to TRY and focus on the economy and the debt (operative word is try since thus far he has been a failure at it) and stop trying to make decisions that are left for the court system. I would love to see SCOTUS slap the administration with obstruction if they could.

I am sick of the gas prices as well. It is time to nationalize the oil industry in this country. I am tired of them raping this country for profit.

I would love to see SCOTUS slap the administration with obstruction if they could..... Obstruction of what? ************ I said if they could. Obama loves to meddle in other peoples affairs. He needs to put his own house in order.

Again, he need to put his own house in order, he's failed at that job for the past 4 years.
