It's the best! Now I love recycling. I was so sick of those nasty-grams from the haulers.

nasty grams? I would just throw it away after 1 of those things...it was easier to do that then spend 10 minutes in a dark cold alley figuring out the tetris life cycle of sorting. It is amazing to me it took the city this long to use incentives to recycle vs disincentives. Econ 101 Human Behavior. I take that back I have lived in the city now for 20 years, I shouldn't that amazed.

It's the best thing to happen to Minneapolis since the '91 World Series

I live in a two person household and now we have one small bag of garbage a week and a full recycling cart every two weeks. We did well before but this has kicked it up a notch or two.

Who's got that now? I live in Minneapolis and haven't seen any of it.

Glad we can focus on recycling rather than sorting. Waiting to get the new container this spring.

Next step: Minneapolis needs to educate its residents that reducing the amount of garbage AND recycling is the true path to sustainability. Too many people think recycling is a get-out-jail card for the consumptive habits. It's not: recycling has costs, too. Paper can only be recycled 6 - 7 times before it becomes trash. So let's work on reducing what goes into both bins!

Wow! Who knew that if you made recycling easy, people would actually do it?

We have more recycling than garbage. Well we did before but this makes it much easier. Often times the different things spilled into other bags (and then with the yellow tags) and for the love of (insert your own special noun here) I could never understand the concept of needing more recycling (paper bags for each item type) to recycle items I already need to recycle. This new system is great. I've also used my quota of parentheses for the week.
