"Even with the increase, fishing will cost less than $2 a month, Boggess noted." - Exactly. This is one of the cheapest forms of entertainment out there. You don't need a $25,000+ boat and $200 rod/reel combos to enjoy this wonderful past time. Take a kid fishing, if they are with you at the lake, you don't have to worry about where they are at or what they are getting in to.

I support fishing, hunting etc. but let's get real here. These same people pay $20,000 for boat and motors etc., couple thousand in fishing gear, $1,000 or more for gas, etc. and only pay a lousey $22.00 for a fishing license for the entire year. I agree with discounts for children and people over 65 but everyone else should be paying at least $100.00 per year and that would still be a bargain.

I'm happy to pay to keep our green spaces great.

Still very cheap. Hopefully, the extra $5 goes into improving the outdoors.

I can't believe it's taken this long. To have a better product you need to invest. The license fees have not kept up with inflation and the product shows. Too many times on the water getting skunked. No ducks. Let's invest in getting kids outside to appreciate all the great assets we have in MN. Otherwise special interests focused on profit will turn us into just another state people drive through instead of a destination where vacationers spend millions each year.

Too expensive. I'll pass.

While it still is a cheap form of entertainment and I don't mind paying the extra, more money does not always equal a better final product. Our funding of education is a prime example of that.

Let's hope they cfind something better to do with the extra $5 than stock the next zillion walleye fry in Mille Lacs.
