Yes! It's about time. You deserve it, state workers. Ignore the naysayers.

Good! State workers are already very underpaid. In my industry there are private and public people who do the same job and those working for the state make far less money (and work just as hard). I could get a job in my industry working for the state in the same position, but I'd make far less money. The state needs to be more competitive and this is one step in the right direction.

"The new deal will expire June 30." ---- Did they forget to put in the year or does this really expire in about 4 months?

I'd be fine with the raises if they rewrote the contracts so it doesn't take three people to do the job of one. Also broaden their job descriptions so that they can do more than just one thing. MNDOt is the worst with these insane contracts.

State workers are very underpaid until they retire at age 50 and soak up the benefits for the rest of their lives.

Give them a 2% raise and then raise their taxes 5%. Ata boy Marko!

That 2% raise would be more meaningful if he wasn't planning on raising their taxes by 5%.

Good bill and the workers have been waiting a long time for a raise! I'm sure the money will be spent and improve our states financial picture!

They could all get paid more if they cut out half the staff and automate most of the services! Geez. What a friggin waste of money.
