I like this guy, Grube. Who says anymore "I take responsibility. I signed the plan." His candor and accountability are a nice surprise.

[Even though the replacements will go into the same spots, Grube said there won’t be future problems with plows hitting them. “You learn from your mistakes and this is something you won’t forget,” he said.] What?!?!? Back in the same spots???? Will the same guy be plowing this stretch from now to eternity?

Almost 3 times the cost. I like how they stated how they had to scramble to pay the cost of the bridge. We, as tax payers, are paying the cost. And we are also led to believe snow plow driver didn't realize he/she hit them, give me a break.

The Lowry Bridge is the most beautiful bridge in the Metro Area!

I find it hard to believe this was caused by a plow. I drive on Lowry quite often and usually the plows don't get within three feet of the curb.

"The taxpayers covered $66.5 million of the bridge. The county financed two-thirds of the project with bonding. The rest came from $37.5 million in state bridge bonds, $2.7 million from Minneapolis, a $475,000 federal transportation grant and $190,000 from Xcel Energy..." ---- Actually, the taxpayers paid for it all except the $190,000 Xcel chipped in.
