Brodin is by far the best 19 year old the Wild have had since Gaborik. This is the kind of pick that can make up for losing Leddy. Excited to see how good he can get!

@BillyBoy Forget Leddy. Not one GM in the league has a track record that's perfect. Fletcher's still brought us guys like Brodin, Coyle, Zucker, Larsson, Kuemper, Dumba, etc. I think we can let him off the hook for the Leddy deal. And, really, Leddy isn't even in the same league as Brodin. That's the laugher about your comment. Brodin's the next Suter.

He is amazing to watch. Skating skills, puck-handling, vision, he has it all. His poise, style, and demeanor are similar to a fellow Swed that had a pretty good career with the Wings.

Sorry, but I think this kid is already better than Leddy.

Better than Leddy? The next Suter? Must be watching a different NHL than I do. Did you see Suter chock so badly that he should have been credited with an assist for the Red Wings first goal the other night. Check your plus/minus numbers.

I have to agree with caferev, give Fletch a break, yes he made a mistake giving up Leddy who at the time was an unproven kid, what that trade did was rid us of a ton of $$ and remember Barker was a top 5 draft pick who had a pretty decent resume.. If Barker would have played to his potential, we would never hear a word about this kid named Leddy. Brodin is a much better defenseman and will be around a long time in the Wild uniform. I know as a hockey fan its hard to be patient, to keep waiting yet another year for a team we can be proud of and a team that will bring home the hardware but we are on the right track, Edmonton is the only team out there that is stacked with young tallent but what can you expect when you have the #1 pick 3 out of 4 years? The Wild have always gotten the raw end of the draft but have made the best of it, Dumba is another player that I cant wait to see in the Wild jersey, enough with the middle of the road players like Stoner and Falk, we will be stacked with upper tier players soon enough.. The Wild are going to make some surprise moves yet this year, I can see some undrafted college players in green.. Would love to see the Wild pick up the Gopher defenseman Nate Schmidt !!!

I think Brodin and Suter are two defensemen the Wild can build around. Suter will settle in as the other young defensemen gain more game experince and Suter can focus more on his game than on trying to cover for his young d teammates!! Go Wild!!!!

Actually macpearce who is obviously a wings fan, it was Spurgeon's man who ended up scoring which is why Brodin was placed back with Suter. Leddy is a top form a 4th dman, which is still impressive but he isnt some golden prospect and shows little room for growth over what he is now. Ballard looked better and look at his game he is a run-of the mill NHL defender
