"Under Walker's voucher plan, districts with at least two failing school buildings receiving grades of D or F on the state report card, and that have at least 4,000 students, would qualify."...it seems that if Mary Bell put her enegies toward improving the schools grades on the scorecards, this wouldn't be any issue. It's only for those schools with failing grades.

Just like a factory without the highest quality raw materials, schools with kids whose parents don't read to them, don't make sure that homework is done, don't stay in contact with teachers will have a difficult time raising test scores. US law says that every student is entitled to a free, appropriate public education.

Feudal Lord Walker.... At it again.... Death by a thousand cuts to the public education system.

On further consideration, if you hold him up as "Exhibit A" of what a product of public education looks like, there appears to be a reason all by itself to support extensive reforms.

Let the voucher program go through. Then a couple years from now we can see what a dismal failure it is and we can bury it once and for all.

These are the same public school teachers who lied about being sick so they could attend a union rally at the capital. Competition is what made America great. Make your public school the best.

Vouchers are just a politicians way of saying that they don't know how to fix a problem so they want to pay their for-profit friends to pretend to fix it.

More money shifting to corporations and the rich. Class warfare is alive and well in Wisconsin. Soon Wisconsin can be renamed North Texas.
