If the revenue isn't as expected from the electronic pulltabs then Wilf should contribute that shortfall towards the stadium. Cry baby Vikings fans have ripped off the rest of the people in the state. This money should have gone to updating our public infrastructure which we already need to do. We should NOT have given it to a billionaire. If I ever hear about Vikings fans complain about traffic I'm going to tell them the money for wider roads is in the pockets of a billionaire in New Jersey and they gave him the money so they should be the very last to complain. Lets also talk about the lie with the team moving to Los Angles. It couldn't have happened because Los Angles could ONLY start an expansion team. They couldn't take and existing team. Also in order for it to be moved in the first place both Chicago AND Green Bay would have had to agree on it and they never would have done that. The Vikings were stuck here. The team, the fans and some elected officials created lies to drum up support and manufacture consent to build a stadium and the people of Minnesota and mostly Minneapolis got ripped off. Rush hour traffic brought to you by Vikings fans. Thanks a bunch for ripping us off.

Wilf and the NFL were scared to death that we would just say no because they had zero options. It was the most perfect moment in history for the citizens to just say no to some out of state wealthy guy who could "build his own" and send a message (too bad the city attorney Segal screwed that up for Mpls). Instead, the nation looks at us now as MinnesoDUH. The Multipurpose Peoples' Stadium name is a total joke when the NFL won't budge on accommodating other sports' proper playing field dimensions. BTW, when I play the paper tabs, I have a ritual like others do: mine is that I throw them onto the ground and stomp the bad luck out of them. Out of the presumed thousands of bars that the these dumb devices will be in (an assumed 2,800?), did the author take into account all of the owners of corner neighborhood bars that have already said no to them?

Despite warnings from dozens of legislators that this would never work and a total absence of any planning or study to determine its feasibility the stadium was "sold" to the public on the basis of it being paid for only by those who wanted to contribute to it through pulltab purchases. After months of reports showing no progress on either pulltab sales or installations it's glaringly apparent now that this will never happen. Therefore, the Legislature has the responsibility to either come up with an alternative funding plan or cancel the project. To do neither is to force the public to pay for this out of the General Fund or let the stadium bonds default. Call or write your legislators and demand that they address this issue while the budget is being considered and before we sink further into debt for this debacle.

I didn't see it anywhere in the article -- what percentage is returned as prizes to players in the paper tabs and in the electronic form? For example, casinos are often around 90 percent; scratch tickets (in Iowa, where I am) are right about 63 percent; Powerball about 49 percent. Does the state provide that information?

Gambling is a tax on the mathematically challenged. Our "investments" in public school math have failed!

"all of the owners of corner neighborhood bars that have already said no to them?".............My sons three bar/restaurants have said no. This ides was doomed to failure, and any sensible person could see that. It was just a smokescreen to buy time. The City and State should do the right thing and pull the money. I would love to see Wilf try and sue.

We moved to Minnesota 15 years ago and early on went to a bar where there were pulltabs (never saw that form of gambling in Illinois, Louisiana, Connecticut, New York, Indiana, or Pennsylvania). We bought some, spent 5 minutes opening them, and then commented that this had to be one of the absolutely most boring activities that anyone could do - even more boring than slot machines (at least slot machines make some musical noises and, if you win, there are other musical noises and the sounds of tokens filling the hopper)! We still do not understand the allure of pulltabs - and concluded that Minnesotans must have so very few available fun and interesting bar activities during cold winters and way too hot and humid summers that they actually think that pulltab gambling is actually fun and exciting! Of course, we also never lived in a state where the local news media actually thought that it was newsworthy to report that snowmobilers and teen couples making out in cars fell through thin ice on frozen lakes - and with commentaries wondering about how the state government can prevent these people from making bad decisions about being on unsafe ice conditions, either! 50% of what the Twin Cities media report would never make it to the Chicago, New York, or Philadelphia (or other major cities!) media reporting.

The iPads games are great, just like a slot machine. The other electronic game out there is pretty boring.
