For all those clowns that think people are still going....look at the numbers going down the last two years and will continue to until they get a "winning" product on that field.

Wanna sell tickets? Bring back competitiveness!

Pohlad can only blame himself. When you are a cheap owner, the quality of the talent drops. So does attendance. I feel sorry for the marketing department. They can not talk about the drive to a championship, knowing full well this team is going to stink. Instead they are marketing the baseball/Target Field experience. This team is going to lose a ton of games again and attendance will be dropping like a rock the next few years. Once again, thanks Pohlads.

Does this surprise anyone?

I'd like to see Kansas City's numbers to compare to the Twins. The Royals went out and got the ace the Twins should have sought: James Shields. The Pohlads will never shed the public's perception of them. Not this season anyways. They had ample opportunity, but decided to go cheap. Too bad. Quite a few Minnesotans will find other ways to spend their recreational dollars.

I declined to renew my season tickets this year. My ticket agent tried to change my mind by telling me about all the cool "perks" I get as a season ticket holder. Big deal. I am a baseball fan, I go to watch the game not to get perks. I do like the new ballpark but the stadium experience only goes so far in covering up for a BAD product on the field. I didn't like the Dome but I would take a good team in the Dome vs a lousy team in Target Field any day. 2010 was the best of both worlds but that sure seems like a LONG time ago!

Now Pohlad has another reason to drop payroll again.

MLB Radio said the except for the Twins Central Divsion will be competitive this year and also mention it would be the worst division in the league. Not a surprise but not what we expected with the new stadium.

by my rough estimations, at this point the Twins will need to draw 12,000 walk-up customers (that aren't buying from the plethora of secondary 'season ticket' resale guys) PER GAME, to equal last year's numbers. Like said above, I cancelled my seats when it became apparent they were more interested in throwing out non-sensical "perks" as a draw, rather than quality play. When after 10 years as a 40 game holder you aren't allowed to purchase full playoff strips (hey, I was willing to wait), and they counter with 'but you get 10% off of food and drink, I knew it was over. The game isn't for baseball fans anymore, it's oriented to corporate ticket sales and "family entertainment", ie, 'come and buy lots of food and swag and look at the beautiful outdoor park, just don't look behind the curtain at the product on the field'.
