If by "sticks" you mean he hopes he "hits," so do we all.

sooo NOT the answer to our third base woes

@jimmy68 - I kind of agree with you, BUT WHO ELSE IS THERE?????? Give him another chance to let him blossom.....There is NO ONE ELSE, sorry..

They want him to be the long term solution at 3B, huh? Is 3 years long term? Because I thought there's a guy named Sano waiting in the wings.

What do you expect them to write? "Plouffe was the luckiest hitter in baseball for two months but the other months he was the worst hitter and the injury and his drop in production are just a coincidence. There is no way he is going to bat over .210 and since no one in the history of baseball has ever gotten better defensively at third base there is not hope." I'm not sold on him being the answer but not writing him off either. What do you expect them to write in spring training? Its not like they said he IS the answer.

When Gardenhire gives a player a nickname like Plouffie, you know he is a Gardy guy.

"Is 3 years long term?"...For a Twins 3B?..absolutely!...For a Supreme Court Justice?..Not so much.

The issue with Plouffe is the same as with Valencia. Will Plouffe survive when the Twins coaches make changes in Plouffe's swing mechanics to go the Twins way, wait till the pitch gets deep, hit the ball with a shorter swing past the opposite side middle infielder, in Plouffe's and Valencia's case, the second baseman. This change in swing mechanics results in less pulling the ball power hitting. Valencia lost his career when the Twins made two changes to his hand hold position to generate a shorter swing with less hand movement prior to the short swing. These are the same changes Morneau has been working on for two years now, significantly lowering his power last year whence he played many games with the shorter contrived swing, Morneau made violent in Morneau's case to recover some power he lost by learning the shorter less powerful swing has resulted in numerous neck and hand injuries for Morneau.

"The issue with Plouffe is the same as with Valencia..coaches make changes in Plouffe's swing mechanics"...Same imaginary issue you have with ALL players, ALL coaches and ALL sports....That is a one-trick-pony that should be mercifully put down.

"Mark Sobolewski, a minor league Rule 5 pickup, is the only other prototypical third baseman in camp." What is "prototypical" about Sobolewski and Plouffe? Did you mean "typical," LEN? ///////////////////// I, too, hope, Plouffe does well at 3B. He could help this year then be a trade chip when Sano is ready.
