Ray Edwards' new career has included two ridiculous bouts that stand out even by boxing's laughable standards.

Ray Edwards should be suspended too. He knew it was a dive and didn't react or protest.

This video is hilarious! Edwards whiffed by at least 12" before this guy took a dive. Far more realistic theatrics at WWF.

Ray should have grabbed the good money the Vikings where offering and stayed in shape and lived off of the double teams that Allen gets every play.No doubt he would have gotten 8 or 9 sacks last year....If he had stuck with the Vikings.

Reusse hits the nail on the head, but it's only in the last paragraph about the crooked promoter with his payoff to the sportswriter. The fact is, these promoters are making (mis)matches to preserve their fighters' unbeaten records for a future somewhat big payday for the boxer, but a large one for the promoter. Boxing is the ultimate game for hustlers, be they managers or promoters. The boxers are almost always the victims in this, convinced to fight 'just one more time' long past their primes. What other sport do we 'laugh' at when its participants are so routinely screwed over, either financially or danger to their health? I know this bout was in ND, but since the passing of RD Brown, the last MN Combative Sports Commissioner, the inmates are again running the asylum here as well, and the result isn't laughable. It's tragic.

Ray Edwards' boxing career is the same as his football career, LAUGHABLE. He had 3 sacks in the Cowboys playoff game. That was the FIRST and LAST time he ever made any kind of impact. I screamed for 3 years that Brian Robison should be the starting left DE, but the Vikings continued to play Edwards. But what do I know....

odb247 Feb. 17, 13 11:38 AM "Ray should have grabbed the good money the Vikings where offering..." The Vikings never made him an offer. They gave starter money to Robison, who had been Edwards backup for the previous 2-3 seasons, so Edwards left for Atlanta.

FLUXERFLIXER Feb. 17, 13 2:34 PM "I screamed for 3 years that Brian Robison should be the starting left DE, but the Vikings continued to play Edwards. But what do I know..." Robison has been no better than Edwards. Their numbers are essentially identical (Robison: 16-1/2 sacks and 81 tackles in two years; Edwards 16-1/2 sacks and 88 tackles in his last two seasons with the Vikings), but for some reason, Robison doesn't get anywhere near the same amount of criticism and ridicule that Edwards got while he was here.

Only one of Tubby's or Kill's teams can take a dive like that one. Then again, maybe Teague and Co. paid to avoid this guy. Minnesota's past, present, and future teams and athletes are disgraceful when compared with high quality organizations like NY... Such a shame. Well, you Minnesotans' still have those little wolf puppies and big scary moose you can hunt to extinction... Good luck!
