Among the hits he sang at the farewell-tour concert was "I'll Always Remember You." His Minnesota fans will, too.

Last of the real country artists...Loved it when at a country awards program ,he said after seeing this so called generation of country singers like Swift and Underwood who's music is as far from country as you can get, along with boys in baseball caps and sunglasses, Straight said they have to come up with another category. only a couple few "real country" singers left, most are just pop rock, and bubble gum, wanna be country.

It doesn't help that our local country stations declared Friday George Strait Day and then played almost none of his music. Reminds me of the day Johnny Cash died and all we heard on the radio was A Boy Named Sue. Really?

George Strait has always come across as a real class act. Isn't he also very private and keeps his family out of the spotlight? I'm not a country music "fan" but I can appreciate a lot of it. (Clint Black is my favorite country singer, and 89.3 The Current plays a lot of really good, old country music!)

King George was awesome! Yep his voice a little deeper but darn that guy is still sexy and sure can sing! We love how he has stuck to his real country sound. The perfect gentleman as well! We have seen him 3 times and never disappointed, listening to him live is the best!!! He is King George and will always be! Picking Martina Mcbride for his opening act was certainly a hit! First time seeing her live and very, very excited to see and HEAR her sing...where does this petite woman get that strong voice? She was the perfect opening act...Love to both King George and Martina! Thank you Excel Center!

My wife won 2nd row seats from BOB 106 FM and the concert was AWESOME! I really liked Martina McBride as well and enjoyed it when George invited Martina back up to sing with him. There were Patriotic parts of the show as well with George and other helping disabled veterans by giving them homes, etc..

Oxboard: I could not have said it better myself! Long live the Conway Twitty, George Jones, and Johnny Cash fans.
