"We have no intention of trading Percy Harvin". Translation: if we can get a good deal he's as good as gone.

Give Frazier the money and respect he earned this past season.

After all the things [that come out of a bulls backside], that have been rumoured by this un-named source, and that off the record guy; it's nice to finally hear from someone with a name, and someone who actually has something to do with the Viking/Harvin situation. You can't tell me that Harvin's beef was with the offense. When he got injured, he was one of the top 3 WR's in receptions. He can't say that he wasn't getting the ball thrown his way enough. It is, and always has been about the money. 2.9mil seems to a normal working person, alot of green to make a year. If you look around the league at the top 10-20 WR's contracts, then you will understand why Harvin wants another contract for more money. My only problem with this, is that he signed a contract, and should play for what he agreed to, in the 1st place. Every year, players are threatend into re-structuring their contracts for less money, or will be cut for what the team calls "Cap reasons". I am not picking sides. There are many players that deserve to get paid more, and as many, if not more, that do not play up to their salaries. The status Quo in the league is to give extensions to players a year before their contract is done. So be it. Harvin should get a huge raise. The problem will be how much the Team is willing to spend, and for how long. The question is, how much does Harvin, and his agent think that he is worth. Most of the NFL people that I have read, or listened too, say 8-10mil is what Harvin should get. If this will make Him happy, then get his signature on a contract. If he thinks he deserves Fitzgerald/Johnson money 12-14mil a year, then there will be a problem. Regardless of what Spielman is saying now, you can bet he will be talking to the other 31 GM's at the Combines. If he doesn't think that he can get good enough trade value, he will give Harvin a great contract. If there is a team out there that is Harvin crazy, and willing to give the Vikes early, or multiple draft picks, Harvin will be gone. Isn't the waiting game alot of fun. Don't expect any answers anytime soon. GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why does everyone think Percy's receptions is the lone parameter for his happiness with the passing game? The team has the next to worst (Sanchez) starting QB in the NFL and an OC that is clueless. Frazier continues to be in denial about how the league is about passing. 3 games this year Ponder passed for less than 100 yards and Frazier defended him. How can a team have Adrian Peterson and not use him to set up the pass? Because Frazier and Musgrave don't have football smarts, period.

Professional contracts tend to baffle me. If a player has a contract doesn't he have to fulfil the provisions of that contract? Another assumption, I have gotten from somewhere is that football contracts are not guaranteed. If so, a contract can be for any number of years, yet terminated if the player is cut.

Brett Favre proved a good quarterback can make an average receiver look good(Cindy Rice) Having said that, trade Harvin for Alex Smith and let's have some competition at quarterback.

I'm just going to go along with Spielman's comments and poker face at this time and state that Harvin will only be worth the money when we get that wide receiver who can stretch the field like Favre was able to do with Sidney Rice. The entire offense will benefit when we have at least one receiver who is a deep threat. We will still need that #1 wide receiver and for Ponder to be able to work with that #1 in order for the Vikes to really rock and roll on offense.

Harven is awesome! I hope he gets healthy and stays. The Vikings with him healthy last year would have beat the Packers, won the NFC championship, and maybe the Superbowl.

Harvin's antics have cost him millions. If he shuts up and plays and loses the attitude, he's worth much more. No one doubts Percy's playing skills, but if he acts a little more like Larry Fitzgerald he might actually get Larry Fitzgerald kind of money.

everyone knows Harvin can ball it. No one can question his skills. He has a contract that he must fulfill or sit out a season. He won't sit out, his heart is football all the way....he's not Randy Moss...who knows where that idiots heart is. The thing is, it is the Vikes prerogative to extend his contract and pay him what he is worth as a football player or they can make him play, lights out like he has for only 3 mil for his final year. To me, 3 million a year is unthinkable money. To a stand stand out NFL wide receiver it's chicken feed. I believe Spielman will test the waters and see what he could get for Harvin. If no great offers are made for him we will see him in purple this year, probably with a 5 or 6 year deal for about 8 to 10 mil a year. I think our need for him is obvious, Jarius Wright can't fill his shoes. That point was made this year. Although I like Jarius Wright, he is not Percy Harvin.
