While leading the NHL in scoring, the former Gopher was tuned in as homeland Austria qualified for the Sochi Games.

Good for Vanek. One of the best Gophers ever and very loyal to Minnesota. He's been solid in the NHL but it always seemed he could do more. Looks like that's what we're seeing now.

A good story- thank you. Glad to have Mr. Vanek still in Minnesota. His work with youth hockey and the community is appreciated and says a lot about him. It would be nice to see him get his shot at the Olympics too.

Dear God, let the Wild find a way to get this kid back home to Minnesota and join the Wild rebuilding project. Can you imagine him on a line with Parise and Mikko. Holy smokes! Thomas come to Minny, we need you #StanleyCupwinners
