This article explains the divide between Obama and House Republicans pretty well - although it is a misnomer to refer to the Republicans as unyielding. They are the ones who yielded and allowed taxes to increase this year. Now it is time for Obama to yield and allow the cuts to be made that HE initially proposed. Unless Obama compromises and proposes alternative cuts Republicans should simply give him the across-the-board cuts that all of them previously agreed to.
Minutes later, he headed to a town hall where some constituents asked why the president hadn't yet been impeached. = And garbage like this question is why the republicans will lose more and more as time goes on. They demand services but don't want to pay for them. They want a country but don't want to pay to have one. This is as unreasonable as the impeach statement.
Obama won the last election which was less than 6 months ago. Perhaps in local enclaves the current Know Nothing senators and representatives are doing what their constituents want, but the country as a whole is disgusted and losing patience.
