First of all if it is all about fairness than why are some items still untaxed? Second, all taxes are passed on to consumers, Third, the 5.5% is just a starting point and will continually be raised until it is not only at the current rate but higher. The govt. spends more money than it takes in, they will continue to do this until the fools that elect the fools make them stop by demanding a balanced budjet with jailtime for politicians who over spend.
