Typical GOP politics-first maneuver. There has never been a filibuster of a cabinet appointment - until now. Way to go, GOP. Instead of giving "advice and consent" as the constitution calls for, they are still fighting the last election. What does Benghazi have to do with Chuck Hagel, for crying out loud? Confirm the man!

TheRepublican right wing teabaggers care little for the defense of our country. To show the outside world how inept we are is a key element of their foolishness. The bull-headed loser John McCain is still exacting his pound of flesh from the American people for not selecting him President.

The truth is that there are a lot better people out there to serve as Secretary of Defense than Chuck Hagel. Hagel's performance before the committee was less than subpar. But Mr. Obama wants him because Mr. Hagel will not resist gutting the military to free up money to buy votes. Mr. Pinetta has some integrity and would have had to resign if he continued in the position.
