How about Browbeater Brew getting demoted to TE's coach at Mississippi State? To make the move more tolerable they tacked on "assistant head coach" to his title on paper. LOL

I hope Alvarez is right!

I hope we stop scheduling FCS teams too. There's nothing to be gained by beating up on teams from New Hampshire and the Dakotas. No one cares about those schools.

"beating up?" Last time I saw the Dakotas whooped us pretty bad. Who can ever forget, "TOUCHDOWN JACKRABBITS!" The U will only save face by not having to schedule them again.

If Alvarez thinks it is such a bad thing, then why does he do it? He is the one in charge of Wisky's schedule. I agree such scheduling should be stopped, but Alvarez makes it sound like "other people" are doing it, but not Wisky.

It's funny that Alvarez is promoting this when Wisconsin traditionally has a very weak non-conference schedule. Plus, the Big Ten is not the only conference that does this. All BCS conferences do it. Check out Alabama's nonconference schedule last year. It was weaker than the Gophers.

It will be easier to explain the loses if they don't come from FCS schools. I'd like to be a Gopher fan, but it's hard. The program would have trouble competing in the same conference the Dakota schools compete in, much less the big ten. I can just see the Gophers scheduling Alabama in a non conference game. LMAO. They'd buy that one out in a hurry! lol I've been rooting for the gophers for years, but I doubt it will ever get any better. One of these years Sid will pass away and then no one will be left to promote gopher football.
