avejoecon: Here's a liberal response to Jack Lew for you. Mr. Lew helped achieve the deregulation that allowed Wall Street banksters to play games with (and lose) depositors' money instead of their own. He now says he doesn't think deregulation had much to do with the 2007/2008 crash. He is a Wall Street person rather than a good-government one. The Senate must reject him and help Mr.Obama choose a Treasury Secretary loyal to the people instead of the banks.

Here's another lib for you: Shame on you Obama for nominating a Wall Street insider that is part and parcel of the economic problem aflicting our country. Mainly the easy accumulation of wealth through the manipulation of the banking industry which inevitably results in the picking of middle class pockets. REJECT this man, the idea he took a million bucks just before the tax payer bailout is outrageous to anyone. We must change the approach to the banking industry. Banks should be banks, not investment houses betting on Wall Street gimmicks. Paul Krugman for treasury, please.

I'll admit to be a staunch Obama supporter. In this instance, I think he could do better. The unsettling comment for me is his defense of the $3M compensation bonus. Sounds like a war crimes defense of "Only following orders" and resonates with the broad surfeit of poor ethics and immorality in the industry.

This guy needs to be rejected. I'm left leaning and think he is a bad choice. He represents everything the Left has been complaining about ever since Bush left office.

If there is ever another Republican President, he will have a Cabinet full of empty chairs. Never has a party obstructed so much of an incumbent's choices for cabinet choices or other appointments. So now the minority gets to run the show?? Ok Then.

All you Obama "supporters" === Vote for Mitt next time. You have never supported Obama and your comments make that clear.
