Gophers need to feed Mbakwe more inside

The Gophers' 6-8 senior often faces bigger opponents, but he could use more touches.

Concerned about Mbakwe's ability to pass out of a double team, but you have to start somewhere. Might as well start tomorrow.

I like Mbakwe but I have to say for a man his size he has poor hands. He puts the ball on the floor in the paint way too often. Sometimes on purpose and some times because he doesn't feild the pass well.

Great article-Amelia Rayno has really good insight into Gophers basketball. I wish she was on Tubby's staff to point out a few things to them.

four weeks ago the article would have had 75 comments thanks Tubby

Mbakwe should not start. He should come off the bench. The team was better early in the season when he didn't start. Let the other players establish their game, then he can come in and supplement. Otherwise they rely on him too much from the beginning. He's not good enough to carry the team.

If Tubby sends in the reserves early, as he always does, Gophers lose by 10.

Come one boys and girls, the Gophers are what they are and that is not a very good team at the stage of the season when most teams, except for Tubby's, get strong and better. The team will lose tonight for the usual reasons, lose its remaining three games on the road and probably just win one of the remaining three home games after tonight. Just not a very good team, kids, nothing more and nothing less!

Another loss tonight because Tubby will get out coached, as fans, take notice when Tubby starts to bring in all his sharp shooters from the bench. The starters will just be getting into the flow of the game and at about the 14:30 mark all the starters will be sitting on the bench. Its really sad when the head coach of a team doesn't give them a fair chance against their opponent. Tubby has to be doing what he is doing so he assure he will get fired and can collect his big payday and move on.

A tad late in the game to be figuring this out, wouldn't you say? How long has the guy been here--five, eight, 12 years?

The loss tonight will be the end of the failed Smith experiment. I too thought Smith's hiring was a good thing, at first. After six years of poor game management, players never improving and in fact regressing, and inadequate recruiting, it is time to move on.
