Sorry to hear Mr. Gadek is leaving. He was instrumental in getting Sun Country back to profitability. One can only speculate on why he resigned, but it's probably safe to say he wasn't happy, thus his abrupt departure. Not knowing what's going on behind the scenes, I would trust Mr. Gadek's moves versus the Davis family.

I am an airplane mechanic who left Minnesota for Seattle for a good wage at Boeing. I would like to have stayed in Minnesota, but there is no good job for me there. If Sun Country continues to do well, maybe I could hire on with them and move back to MN and start paying Minnesota State income taxes again -- and I was proud to pay those taxes when I lived and worked in Minnesota because I saw what my state taxes delivered in terms of good and timely services like clearing roads of snow on mornings I needed to get to work.

Gadek stood by Sun Country and his employees during the bankruptcy and turned the company around. His departure is very sad news!

Gadek cared about his employee's and did an amazing job leading Sun Country through bankruptcy. His leadership is a huge loss. Sun Country Made this announcement late yesterday to make sure nobody was available or willing to comment on Gadek's departure! Great story considering the limitations placed on the reporter!

Rumor has it that Gadek didn't resign. Many, many people brought Sun Country back to profitability, not just one person. I'll trust and bet on the Davis'.

I've taken Sun Country to the Caribbean and Mexico for my winter vacations for the last few years and their brand of service can't be matched by Delta or anyone else. I sure hope this isn't a sign of some bad news to come. Stan Gadek did more than his share to see the airline and its employees through the awful consequences of the Tom Petters mess and keep the company in business. It's sad to hear this news about his leaving, whatever the true circumstances are, but good luck to whatever he chooses to do in the future!

Great, I'm taking my first Sun Country flight on Sunday, hopefully there's a plane at the gate.

Good luck to Sun Country. I, too, have flown them several times and have been extremely impressed with the hometown service. Good luck Sun Country!

It was not a resignation, he was fired.
