Achieved with no gov't program...amazing. Needless to say, we do not need any further gov't programs.

Heartwarming story! Amazing work you are doing, Lindsay. If you are looking for other organizations to support, Avenues for Homeless Youth in Minneapolis is a small home (shelter) for youth ages 16-20 who cannot return home. These youth LOVE to see donations of body wash, lip balm, hair products, and other suchitems that are appreciated by youth but not donated often. Just an fyi. :) Regardless, I hope this story inspires others. Thank you for sharing.

Lindsay, thank you for your wonderful dedication to helping those in need! To redorblue, while private donations make an incredible difference, they still do not come close to meeting the tremendous need in the community. Government programs are still very much needed, and social service programs work hard to ensure that funds from all sources are spent wisely. We are most successful when resources from government, corporate, faith community, and individual sources are pooled to make the greatest impact.
