'Buy the Farm' law not working, Minnesota landowners say

Landowners affected by power lines have a right sell their property to utilities, but a court’s limitations on the law provoked frustration.

I can imagine how it would be frustrating to see these massive towers erected on your property, and then to see a 10.6% rate increase on your bill with a notification that your rates are increasing to pay for the updating of power plants and transmission lines. (On the back of a separate rate increase two years ago that was pinned specifically to the CAPX project)

Yes it is stacked against the people, which the power (POWER) companies could reduce. All they have to do is bury the lines but instad they want to make things difficult to the people they are putting out. I think all the POWER company execs should be required to live under a POWER line.

The law was passed in 1977. The DFL controlled the house, the senate and the governors office. No surprise there.
