I absolutely agree with this article. Harvin's flaws were and are well known by Vikings' brass. So are his strengths on the field, which in a lot of ways are unmatched by anyone else in the entire league. Provided Harvin actually wants to be in MIN, I believe the locker room and the belief in Frazier's approach is strong enough to withstand Harvin's temper tantrums. I worry more about his ability to stay healthy than any of the emotional issues, those that are public and those that are secret. The medical aspect is what would make me hesitate in giving him big cash than anything else. Harvin is an emotional, ultra-talented and competitive athlete who is still maturing as a young man. Make sure the medical rap sheet checks out and pay him.

No one has ever said that group of ex-football players with egos too big for their playing time who were running an NFL franchise were role models for wisdom, intelligence, or efficiency... Harvin, along with many fans, has the mistaken idea that the executive offices of the perennial also-rans in the NFL want to win it all. Nope - it's about being in charge and being always a short step away... According to the bottom feeders exec philosophy, if the front office lets the team win a Super Bowl, then the following year every failure will an abomination, players will want a share of the money for their hard work, and players will start to think they are the ones making it happen... As those players with an intense drive to win have learned, for execs trained as bureaucrats and pencil pushers and their hirelings, it is all about the art of almost winning.

Harvin needs a player's team... is the Vikings management and coach committed to a players' team, a coaches team, or an owner's team?

Don't trade Harvin especially for Flynn - the winner in that trade would be Seattle. Minnesota needs Harvin so rework his contract and all will be happy.

Harvin's already a distraction and a headcase. What do you think will happen when he gets a big contract? No one man is bigger than the team...trade him.

in a recent strib poll the majority of people would trade harvin. what's wrong with them? from a fan's viewpoint, what has harvin ever done to have even one viking's fan want him traded? the fan's hear about a riff between harvin and frazier, which they really don't know a darn thing about, and from that they want him gone? that's totally ridiculous. he's very likely our best player next year if they don't trade him. you can bet your bottom dollar that he won't be traded unless a team makes the vikes an offer they can't refuse-he's that valuable.

Trade him to a team like Jacksonville that has no QB that can throw to him. Use the money they were going to shell out for him and pick up the best free agent receiver. Let the drama queen play elsewhere.

Agree! Obviously I am not in the locker room, but I havent seen anything that warrants a trade. Randy Moss was 100 times worse! Percy is invaluable to this team. And he gives 100% when on the field. They need him, period. Other teams would kill to have him on their team.

dear bredpath: let me guess-you're a big matt birk fan and not a randy moss fan, right? i heard the same stuff then from a guy i worked with who was frightened to death that randy moss's presence would ruin the team. your friend chicken little was wrong about the sky falling, you know. the vikings players and coaches are all adults, having one eddie haskell on the team won't lead them to ruin.

He's a child in a mans body. A crazy fast body. Fans expect an answer to this now. Ain't gonna happen now. Until then this is all to keep us talking about the NFL. Souhan might be singing a different song in a a few weeks anyway.
