Big Government?? The increase in government spending under Obama has been the smallest since Eisenhower, and is dwarfed by such conservatives as Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush. When the GOP doesn't have any good policies to sell, they just make stuff up. It's really sad when the only things you have to attract voters are lies!

Big government isn't just about excessive spending, it's about excessive reach into people's lives. He's done as much or more there than FDR or Bush II. I'd think Rubio could skip this point as america has already noted it based on the administrations actions over the past 4 years. We're going a little faster down the hill today, maybe rubio could point that out instead.

The GOP can accuse the Democrats of "Big Government" but I think it is equally fair that working class citizens accuse both parties of "Bloated Government" and flooding the US Labor Market with cheap foreign labor.

Is this "big government" speech going to sound as foolish after it's public knowledge that the Treasury Department said Tuesday that the government took in a surplus of $2.9 billion in January?

Let's see....home values going up, retirement account returns going up, hmmmmmm....I think I'll pass on this reheated "big government" pitch. A steady 10% rate of return on my mix of mutual funds and bond investments over the past four years is pretty darn good if you ask me compared with the 30% nosedive they took at the end of the Bush administration's time in office.

Big Government?? The increase in government spending under Obama has been the smallest since Eisenhower, and is dwarfed by such conservatives as Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush. ********** Can you explain why for the past 4 years we have averaged $1.2 trillion dollar deficit spending?

Is this "big government" speech going to sound as foolish after it's public knowledge that the Treasury Department said Tuesday that the government took in a surplus of $2.9 billion in January? ************* Yet the forcast is for a deficit of 800+ billion for this year. Where as the highest deficit during the previous administration was about 460 billion dollars.

22julfertsFeb. 12, 13 3:57 PM:"firefight41, it's called the Bush era tax cuts"...Not quite right. This is and has been the obama administration and any/all that is currently in place would be the "obama era tax cuts"...GW Bush has been out of office 4 years and everything now is on the community organizer, including the unemployment rate that has not gone down one iota during this administration's actions and proposals!
