Sen. Cornyn, the NRA, and amendment rights advocates can't deny that when more and more firearms are sold legally, the more likely their fellow firearms purchasers are to sell illegally, have stolen or use or foster illegally used firearms themselves. If you have an unlocked firearm or ammo you are the problem. The elusive mentally unstable person gets all the credit for firearms incidents when it is the irresponsible firearms sellers, purchasers and owners who truly first to be blamed.
