The Twin Cities, however, didn't bear the brunt as the deepest snow fell to the west and north.

Why do the cities charge those poor people so much for towing? They must love the money it brings in. I think it is sad for the car owners.

I have no smphy for any of these people. If one has to park on the street, well, they should know that a Snow Emergency will be called. Every year, there is a bunch of people that get towed to the impound lot. Come on people, lets get with it.

Today I noticed quite a few vehicles that blocked the ploughs on major streets and were neither ticketed or towed. Why; is the City of Mpls staff lazy or do they know who ownes the cars??

Every year it seems like you read the paper or watch the news and they interview someone who says "This is the 4th time I have had my car towed this year. It is unfair!" You would think some people would learn after the first time... nope.

This is the lamest snow emergency I can remember. I dont think people had any idea that a snow emergency was called given that it barely snowed.

I agree with rustyscupper, we had 2 inched of snow. TWO inches! A snow emergency should not have been called.

As the famous Mr. T might say, "I pity the fool who doesn't call (612) 348-SNOW or (651) 266-PLOW when it snows!" Seriously, add those numbers to your phone's phonebook, and call them when it snows. You can also sign up for email and text message notifications from each city. In the suburbs, although each one is different, as a general rule, don't park on the streets at all if it's snowing, or from 10 PM to 6 AM, November through March, snowing of not, unless you know the rules say differently. Doing this should keep you safe even in most restrictive of our 100+ suburban municipalities.

I agree with you huggybear28. It took one time for me to get my car towed. Now I get a text, an email and a phone call.

The city of Minneapolis sends out text message alerts when a snow emergency is declared. If anyone's car was towed it was their own fault for being too lazy to move it...

Honest I didn't know it was snowing; I didn't know they would plow; I didn't know there was a snow emergency; my tux didn't come back from the cleaners; I had a flat tire, there was a flood, I ran out of gas; its not my fault.
