This pope had a tough road left to him, and some things he did well. Where he fell down is his actions showed no respect for non-Catholics, particularly Protestants, whom he tried to impose Catholic will on with governmental interference. History will judge, hope this was not brought on by bad health.

He would have been seen as a progressive and enlightened Pope - had he served in the 18th Century.
